This bracket is designed to connect two Rafters to a 2X Ridge Beam at ~23-degree (5-12 pitch) angles. This bracket simplifies addition of the ridge rafters at perfect angles to form strong a support structure.

The DIY Heavy Duty Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket is commonly employed to construct roofs for 5-12 pitch Rectangle Pavilions, 5-12 pitch Gable Roofed garage, shed, or workshop, partial hexagon gazebos, and linear hexagon pavilions. Couple this with our universal rafter tie bracket and 5-12 pitch roof skirt bracket to build a super-sturdy gable roof structure.
The Universal/ DIY Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket is designed to attach to the bottom and side surfaces of the 2X main ridge beam and provide two rafter receiver U-channels at 23-degree ( 5-12 pitch) angles.
WARNING: You must attach this bracket to the ridge beam first, exactly as shown in the video steps, before you add the rafters. You must use 1/4" x 1-1/2' lag screws that are included with the brackets.
These brackets simplify addition of the ridge rafters at perfect angles to form strong support structure.
Do you have a single ridge beam and rafters structure which has a bowing or sagging ridge beam? Retrofit these brackets to straighten and level you existing structure or to add extra strength. Jack up the ridge beam until is level, add this bracket as instructed to each ridge beam and rafter joint, then remove the lift jack. These brackets will eliminate all flex at the rafter and ridge beam joints and help to keep the ridge beam straight and level.
The high strength design of this bracket holds the ridge rafters securely.
The Universal/ PO Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket's arms have upward facing open U-channels to easily receive 2x6 or 2x8 ridge rafters.
Use this bracket in conjunction with bracket #PTRT (Wall Top Rafter Tie) and #OE-RT (Open End Rafter Tie).
The Universal/ PH ridge rafter tie bracket attaches to the ridge beam's bottom and side surfaces using six (6) 1/4" x 1-1/4" lag screws.
Each ridge rafter is secured to the U-channel with four (4) 1/4" x 1-1/4" lag screws.
Included are forteen (14) 1/4" x 1-1/4" lag screws to complete the job.
Don't forget that you will have to drill 1/8" pilot holes to drive 10D X 3" nails at an angle to secure the top of the ridge rafters to the ridge beam. These 10D nails are not included.
This bracket is constructed from 1/8" thick high strength steel.
This bracket is laser cut and formed and coated with durable black powder paint.
This bracket may be spray painted over with any desired exterior-grade paint color.
