Use as Wind blockers around hottubs and barbecue islands, Window privacy shield, Storm shield to protect large windows, sand storm shields to protect glass panes, and as hurricane shields to protect windows from flying debris.

These louvers can be mounted in fixed openings, in sliding barn door style frames, in bifold door frames, and in hinging door frames build with 2x4s.
This is a 36" Tall DIY Louvers which use 1x4 slats up to 60" (5 ft.) PT Lumber and 96" (8 ft.) KD Lumber and plastic lumber.

We offer two additional sizes:  Decorative 24" DIY Louver Bracket Kit and Decorative 48" DIY Louver Bracket Kit.

We recommend cedar, black locust, Iroko, teak, Ipe wood slats and high density plastic lumber for highend and long life.

HomeDepot, Lowes, and Menards carry textured low density white PVC 1x4s which have correct dimensions to fit as louver slats. However, these PVC 1x4s are very flexible and bow easily and have a high thermal expansion rate. If you plan to use these PVC 1x4s in lengths longer than 36", you must add 304 Stainless Steel edge stiffeners to stiffen the 1x4 slats.

Contact us if you wish to use PVC 1x4s longer than 36" to order the stainless steel U-channel supports in 20" lenghts.

Plastic lumber in many colors will be arriving soon and will be available as an option.

Horizontal and Vertical Slat Orientations Capable.
Accepts 1x4 size dimensional lumber members.
Fits within a 36" or larger opening.
If opening is larger than 36" add filler 1x4 or 1x6 wood strips on top and bottom to create a nice framed appearance.

Stackable: two kits of any size combo can be stacked and connected together for synchronous louver rotation.
