This kit is designed to be mounted on a concrete slab, concrete footings, or wood deck.

Size:
Left to Right Width ranges from 8 ft. to 24 ft. Price varies by length.
Depth ranges from 6 ft. to 16 ft. Limited only by lumber lengths available. If you want depths to be more that 16 ft., you must use our 4x4 Tee brackets and add a post in the middle.

Size of this Pergola can vary in both directions. For variations in Length, you can use 4x4 up to 12 feet in length. Beyond 12 feet depth, add extra post in the middle of the long walls using two floor anchor brackets and two 4x4 Tee (straight extension brackets) which are included with kits longer than 12 ft..

For rain proofing and 100% UV shielding, we recommend polycarbonate panels available through www.duralightplastics.com or www.palram.com. Polycarbonate panels require only about 6" drop per 12 feet of slope for drainage.

To create a rain drainage slope, use 2x8 or 2x10 sandwich headers on the high side to achieve 4" or 6" drop across the width for rain drainage. These sandwiched headers are superior to 4x4 headers in load bearing capability. Also, if you want the roof to overhang the sides, we have a clever and easy way to create the overhang using these 2x8 or 2x10 headers. Ask us how.

The price is only affected by the length of the pergola because the top rafters are running perpendicular to the length. So as length varies, more rafters are needed to fill the length (we use 24" on center rafters) and more brackets to attach the rafters to the headers.

Lumber Size
This bracket kit is designed to use 4x4 dimensional posts and headers.
Universal Size: Any size structure from 6ft. to 16 ft wide and from 8 ft. to 24 ft. long. can be created.

Rafters are recommended to be added at 24" spacings.
Rafter Tie Brackets are included and required for high structural strength.
8 ft. Wide uses 10 Rafter Ties, 10 ft. Wide Uses 12 Rafter Ties, 12 ft. Wide uses 14 Rafter Ties, 14 ft. Wide uses 16 Rafter Ties, and 16 ft. uses 18 Rafter Ties, and so on up to 24 ft.
The variations' prices increase, by size, as the number of rafter ties included increases.
